Carbohydrates consist of the elements Carbon (C), Hydrogen (H) , and Oxygen(O). Carbs include sugars, starches, cellulose, and many other compounds found in living organisms. In their basic form, carbs are simple sugars, or monosacharides.
Lipids
Lipids are organic compounds, commonly known as oils and fats. They are important to a persons diet because they serve as a high energy value. They are also fat-soluble vitamins and essentially fatty acids found on the fats of natural foods.
Proteins
Proteins are polymers of amino acids covalently linked through peptide bonds into a chain. Proteins serve a plethora of functions including structural roles, catalysts, transporter to ferry ions and molecules across membranes, and as hormones.
Nucleic Acids
Nucleic acids determine the functioning of the cell. The two types are DNA and RNA. These are important in giving and storing the general instruction of living things. Nucleic Acids direct the synthesis to create new proteins.
